Herbstgold 2027

HERBSTGOLD - Festival 2027

The HERBSTGOLD Festival 2027 moves between nature-inspired reverie and artistic musical genius. Spanning centuries and musical genres, it takes the audience on a journey from soulful, romantic intimacy to exuberant, carefree cheerfulness and bold, stirring drama.

Enjoy grand orchestral evenings with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and be captivated by masters of their craft such as Seong-Jin Cho, Philipp Hochmair, Ivan Fischer, Opus 13 and Federspiel.

The musical spectrum ranges from Beethoven’s festive, cheerful joy of composing, through Haydn’s brilliant, exquisite classical works, to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent, gripping symphonies – all playfully interspersed with forays into brass music and film scores!

Look forward to the varied entertainment that the HERBSTGOLD Festival has in store for you again in 2027!

10 YEARS OF HERBSTGOLD – A READING BOOK TO MAKE YOU THINK

To mark the tenth edition of the HERBSTGOLD Festival in Eisenstadt, we would like to build a bridge between art and culture and the pressing socio-political issues of our time:

What holds a society together? Is it, above all, material security, confidence in social mobility, and fair opportunities in life and at work? Do citizens feel that the rule of law protects them and offers them fair opportunities for advancement?

The authors of this anthology address these topics in very different ways. In particular, they also explore the question of how and why authoritarian forces are enjoying such strong support at this time. Is this inevitable, or are there ways in which authoritarianism can be effectively combated or steered onto a safe course?
